Using a Blog to attract search engines, traffic and ultimately.. BIG money
When some people hear the word blog a lot of times they think of “diary” or “online journal.” For the most part they’re right, but blogs and blogging platforms have taken on an entirely new form in the past few years.
Blogs have a one-up on your traditional website that consists of page and subpages. With a blog, you can update your content more easily and effectively. Your visitors have much more interactivity with your website, and with RSS feeds your blog notifies your subscribers automatically with updates.
Another great thing about blogs is they are much more customizable. With Wordpress and some other blogging platforms you have the ability to switch out themes and layouts in an instant. Not only that, everything can be changed or updated through the admin panel on the website. You don’t need to edit the HTML files on your computer, then upload them to your server. With wordpress, you can edit your website from any computer that’s connected to the internet.
Search engines are particularly favorable towards blogs compared to your standard website. The reason this is, is because blogs are updated more frequently; thus, search engines are coming back to your site more often to check for changes.
How do you use the power of blogging to make lots of money online?
Well it’s quite simple actually:
1. First, it’s best to pick a niche topic that you are familiar with. That way you’ll be experienced with the subject, and be able to cater to your visitors better.
2. Pick a nice theme online somewhere and customize it with your logos and graphics. This is important because presentation is everything!
3. Fill your blog up with quality and original blog entries about whatever niche you are blogging. It’s important to include as many relative keywords to your niche as possible throughout your entries, blog, and website. That’s how people find you through the search engines.
4. Sign up with a quality affiliate program, Google adsense, banner ad networks, and other advertising programs. Unless you’re selling a product, affiliate programs and google adsense are the best options for making money with a blog. You can also sell banner space on your website for monthly or yearly fees.
5. Submit your site to search engines, directories, and social bookmarking sites. You really don’t have to go overboard. You can get away with 20 quality submissions a month if you have quality content and keywords. It’s actually better to slowly build up your backlinks.
6. Promote your blog on relevant forums, message boards, classifieds, rings, etc. The more your link is out there, the more opportunities there are for people to visit your blog.
And that’s pretty much it. Once you have a blog that has a lot of quality content, is indexed on the search engines, and has subscribers and traffic going to it then there is unlimited opportunity for making money. You just have to direct the traffic which way to go!
